Keeping Time with Jeff Haynes |
Through Mount Saint Mary College's Center for Community and Educational Services, Jeff will present the percussion instruments, rhythms and history related to a different genre of music each month. Over the course of the Fall and Spring semesters, the community will learn about percussion in the context of the following genres of music: Classical Jazz, Caribbean, Blues, American Folk, New Age, African, Brazilian and Klezmer. Weekly classes offered this Spring 2008 (January, February, March, April) during the day for the College's L.I.F.E. 55+ Program and in the evening for the general community. Check back this Spring for the schedule and genres that will be featured this fall or call Joan McAdam, the Mount's CCES director, at 565-2076. Free Monthly Multi Genre Concerts The community is invited to take a percussive journey through a different genre each month -- with a free concert on the Mount's campus. Get up close to the music and engaged in candid discussions about the music and the performers. Fall 2007 Concert Line-up
